Sidebar 16 block design & features
Sidebar16 is a catalog rail built with shadcn/ui. The header still has a workspace switcher and search. The body is a single Services group of category rows such as Compute, Storage, Database, Networking, Management, and Application Integration. Selecting a category opens a full-height overlay that fills the rest of the viewport. The overlay header shows the category title with back and close controls. The body is a multi-column grid of section headings and service links (instances, object storage, relational databases, and similar). A user footer stays on the rail.
On the page the overlay is a light sheet with a left border, a drop shadow, and a short slide-in. Links are small and muted until hover. Section titles are modest and semibold. The left rail stays visible so the selected category remains highlighted. Density jumps from a short category list to a large service catalog.
This reads as a cloud-console or admin catalog, more technical than a marketing nav. The mega menu is the distinctive piece in the sidebar set and is highly elaborate. Complexity is mixed: the overlay and grid are code-driven, but the block only works with a large, real catalog of services and section labels.
The overlay grid adds columns as the viewport widens. Closing the sheet returns you to the center canvas and the breadcrumb header.
