Feature 429 block design & features
Feature429 is an editorial shadcn/ui slideshow that treats each photo as a plate in a printed atlas. A large serif heading and short introduction sit beside a portrait print mounted on a thin white border, with a numbered index of every plate beneath the introduction. Under the print sit the plate numeral and title, a short field note, the plate count and altitude, and plain Previous and Next links.
Tapping the print starts the next plate from the exact point touched. A wash of dark ink spreads out first, followed closely by the new photograph, both shaped by an SVG turbulence filter so their edges stay ragged and fibrous like ink soaking into paper, with a few stray droplets around the starting point. Every transition uses a fresh noise seed, so no two blots look the same. The arrow links and arrow keys start the blot from the matching side, the index rows start it from the centre, and taps made during a spread are queued and play once it settles. The caption crossfades with a soft blur and the layout stays fixed throughout.
It suits photography books, travel publications, galleries and editorial brands with textured, abstract imagery. It needs a photo, a title, a region, an altitude or similar detail and a one line note for each plate.
