Blog 89 block design & features
Blog89 is a twelve-card blog grid built with Shadcn UI, laid out as three rows of four beneath a standalone heading. Every card is a bordered panel topped by a flush 16:9 cover, followed by an uppercase category label, a title, a two-line excerpt, and a byline with a small round avatar beside the author name and date.
Visually it is a muted, framed grid: hairline borders, rounded corners, and a card surface that sets each post apart from the background. The byline pairs a medium-weight author name with a muted date in small type, below the semibold title and gray excerpt. Gaps between cards are compact. The cover dims a little on hover and the title underlines separately.
This is the high-volume version of the bordered byline card, trading the read time for a third row. It feels orderly and newsroom-like, with author attribution on every post. Content-heavy: twelve posts with images, categories, summaries, author names, avatars, and dates.
On tablets the grid drops to two columns and on phones to one. Author names truncate in narrow columns, and bylines stay pinned to the card bottom.
