Blog 74 block design & features
Blog74 is a nine-post grid built with shadcn/ui, with a centered heading and description above three rows of three cards. Each card is a 16:9 cover photo with a small category pill in its top left corner, followed by the title and a footer row that puts the date on the left and a short read link with an arrow on the right. The cards carry headlines only, with no excerpts.
Stylistically the cards are borderless: no border or fill, just the rounded photo frame and wide gutters. The solid pill is compact and tucked close to the image corner, so the category reads cleanly over any photo. Meta comes down to a muted date and a medium-weight read link. Each card has three separate hover targets: the cover dims slightly, the title underlines, and the read link underlines while its arrow darkens. There is no entrance motion.
Image-led and economical with copy, the headline-only cards make this a fast-scanning index. It is a common archive shape, and the centered intro plus an explicit read link on every card set it apart from the left-aligned excerpt grids. Simple to fill, though it needs nine cover photos to look complete.
Two columns at small widths leave the ninth card alone on its last row, and phones get a single column.
