Blog 72 block design & features
Blog72 is a long writing index built with shadcn/ui, listing up to twelve posts under a heading and optional description. A hairline rule opens the list and divides each row, with the last row left open. Rows are laid out as three columns: the date in a fixed-width column on the left, the linked title in the middle, and the category aligned to the right edge.
It works like a ledger. Dates are muted with fixed-width figures, categories are small tracked uppercase in muted gray, and titles are semibold at a comfortable reading size, sharing a common left edge thanks to the fixed date column. Without thumbnails, surfaces, or shadows, the column rhythm and dividers do all the structural work. Only the title responds to hover, with an underline, and there is no entrance animation.
Leading with the date makes this read as a chronological record, the counterpart to the category-led index in the same family. It is spare, timeless, and very simple to fill. Each entry needs a title, date, category, and URL, and the list handles a full year of posts comfortably.
On small screens the date and category share the first line, pushed to opposite ends, and the title drops below at full width. From the small breakpoint up, all three columns sit on a single line.
