Blog 49 block design & features
Blog49 is a featured-plus-sidebar blog section built with shadcn/ui card surfaces. A label and heading sit above a five-column layout: a large featured story spanning three columns, and two stacked secondary cards on the remaining two. The featured card includes a wide cover, category, title, excerpt, date, read time, and a read-more cue. Side cards drop the excerpt and keep image, category, title, and metadata.
Surfaces share rounded bordered shells with a light hover shadow. The featured title is larger than the side titles, so hierarchy comes from scale and column span rather than extra chrome. Hover tints titles toward the primary color.
The layout is a familiar magazine well rather than an equal grid. Complexity is moderate and mixed: one long-form featured object plus two shorter posts with photography.
On smaller breakpoints the featured card stacks above the two side cards, which then sit full width.
