Blog 28 block design & features
Blog28 is a bento-style post grid built with shadcn/ui, headed by a single centered heading. On desktop the grid runs four columns: the lead post fills the left half and spans two rows, while four smaller posts form a two-by-two block on the right. Every post shows a 16:9 cover, an author and date line, and a title; the lead adds a much larger headline and a summary.
Without borders or card fills, the rounded images and tight column gaps define the grid. Meta sits above each title as a medium-weight author name, a faint dot, and a muted date, set smaller on the compact cards. The size jump between the lead headline and the small titles gives the grid its hierarchy. Hover dims the cover and underlines the title as two separate links. The layout is static.
This is an asymmetric news-portal arrangement and the only block in the family that folds the lead story into the grid itself instead of setting it apart above or beside a list. The small cards carry only a byline and title, so their headlines need to work alone. Complexity is low to moderate, mainly requiring five cover images.
Mobile shows a single column. At tablet widths the grid becomes two columns, with the lead taking the left column beside two stacked cards and the remaining posts wrapping beneath.
