Blog 20 block design & features
Blog20 is a split featured-plus-list layout built on shadcn/ui styling. A heading opens the section, then two equal columns sit side by side. The left column holds the featured post: a small square thumbnail beside a large title, followed by a longer excerpt and a byline with author name and date. The right column lists up to four more posts as rows of linked title and date.
The thumbnail is deliberately tiny, a rounded square that sits next to the headline like an icon rather than a cover. The featured title is large and tightly tracked, with a medium-weight author name, a faint dot separator, and a muted date beneath the excerpt. Hairline dividers sit between the list rows only. Hover underlines titles in both columns and fades the thumbnail slightly.
This is the only block in the minimal set with a clear lead story, giving it a front-page hierarchy without leaning on photography. The small thumb is an unusual touch that keeps the section text-led. Complexity is moderate and content-driven: one featured post with an image, excerpt, and author, plus four shorter entries.
Below large screens the columns stack, putting the featured story above the list. The thumbnail grows a little from phones to tablets.
