Blog 130 block design & features
The block lines up back issues as a shelf of tall portrait covers under a heading, description and a pair of round arrow buttons. Each cover is a single flat colour with the category and issue number along the top and the title, author and read time at the bottom.
Behind the type sits the issue number as a huge, low-opacity numeral that bleeds off the left edge of the cover, giving every card a typographic graphic without using photography. The publish date sits quietly beneath each cover.
The row scrolls horizontally with snap points, and the arrows step one cover at a time and fade out at either end. A thin progress bar below tracks how far along the shelf you are. Scrolling respects reduced-motion preferences.
Five covers show at once on wide screens, four on laptops, two and a half on tablets and a little over one on mobile, so there is always a hint that more issues sit off to the side.
