Blog 128 block design & features
The block sets a large heading and short description, with a link to the full journal on the right, above a ruled list of entries. Each row lines up the date, category, title and read time in columns, with an arrow on the far right.
Hovering a row reveals a 4:3 image preview that trails the cursor, eased with requestAnimationFrame and flipping to the left side near the edge of the screen. The images crossfade as you move between rows, while the other rows dim so the active title stands out.
The preview only appears on devices with a fine pointer. When reduced motion is on, or a row receives keyboard focus, the preview sits still beside the row instead of following. All listeners and animation frames are cleaned up on unmount.
On mobile the preview is hidden and each row stacks the date and category above the title.
