Blog 114 block design & features
Blog114 is an image-led archive page made with Shadcn UI. Below a heading and description, a narrow left column lists every year with its post count, and each year links down to its group in the wider right column. Each group opens with a large year over a strong rule, followed by posts that pair a square thumbnail with a date and topic line, a bold title, and a two-line excerpt.
Thumbnails bring color and rhythm to what is otherwise a typographic list. Hairline rules divide the posts, the year links pick up a muted fill on hover, and each thumbnail dims slightly on hover while titles underline. On wider screens the year navigation stays pinned while the archive scrolls.
It sits between a classic blog archive and a magazine back-issues page, and it gives every older post a visual anchor. The block is moderately content-driven and image-driven: each post needs a square image, a date, a topic, a title, and a short excerpt.
On smaller screens the year navigation becomes a horizontal row that scrolls sideways above the list, and the thumbnails shrink.
