Product Categories 17 block design & features
The block is a wide banner with a darkened photo and a centered column of large white category names, like Clothes, Bags, Shoes and Accessories. Only the current category's name is fully opaque, with a thin underline. It is built with shadcn/ui and the Carousel component with fade and autoplay.
Hovering or focusing a name pauses the rotation and crossfades the background to that category, and the underline moves with it. When the pointer leaves the list, the banner goes back to crossfading to the next category every few seconds. Each name links to its category. The categories, their titles, images and links are props. Autoplay stays off when reduced motion is preferred.
On mobile the banner keeps a fixed height so the names stay readable over the photo.
