Gallery 88 block design & features
Gallery88 presents photo albums as piles of prints. In this shadcn/ui block, a heading sits above three album stacks, each made of four bordered photos layered at loose angles with the album name and photo count underneath.
Hovering a pile fans its prints further apart and lifts the top one, as if someone were about to pick it up. Opening an album deals its photos out of the pile into a three-column grid, with every print gliding and straightening into its slot, and captions fade in once they land. The other albums collapse into a row of chips with a thumbnail and count for quick switching, and an all albums button deals the photos back into their piles.
It feels tactile and personal, closer to sorting prints on a table than browsing a grid. It suits portfolios, event archives, and collections split into a few themes. It needs a handful of albums with a name and several photos each.
