Gallery 79 block design & features
Gallery79 expands images without leaving the section. This Shadcn UI block shows a heading above a bento grid of architecture photos with a large feature tile, a tall tile, and a wide tile.
Clicking a tile makes its photo grow smoothly to cover the whole grid area while the other tiles fade and shrink back. A gradient at the bottom holds the title, a caption, and round previous, next, and collapse buttons. Moving between photos while expanded morphs from one to the next, and collapsing sends the photo back into its tile. Escape and the arrow keys also work.
It is a focused, in-context alternative to a full-screen lightbox that keeps the visitor on the page. It needs photos with a title and one-line caption, and each tile's span is a prop.
