Gallery 54 block design & features
Gallery54 is a filterable masonry gallery built with shadcn/ui. A mono eyebrow, heading, and short description introduce pill category controls, then a CSS-columns mosaic of mixed-height photographs. Changing the filter crossfades the whole grid while a minimum height lock reduces layout jump as items enter and leave.
Active pills invert to foreground on background; inactive pills stay muted with a light border. Tiles keep large rounded frames and cover imagery at varied heights so the masonry rhythm remains after filtering. There is no per-tile lightbox in the base pattern.
The pattern is practical and content-driven with moderate interaction complexity. It needs multiple categories and a larger image set so filters and masonry heights both feel intentional. Compared with a uniform filterable grid, the column mosaic is the distinctive layout.
