Gallery 32 block design & features
The section fills the viewport with a muted background and positions eight images at various absolute coordinates, creating a layered collage with deliberate overlaps. Two text blocks with rounded-corner background panels are placed among the photos, sliding into view with framer-motion entrance animations. The entire composition is centered within a container and scaled down to 75% on small screens.
Hovering any image triggers a blur filter on all other photos while slightly scaling the hovered one, directing focus to a single element at a time. Each image also supports drag interaction, so users can reposition photos within the viewport. The entrance animations stagger by index with a half-second base delay, bringing the collage in piece by piece.
The aesthetic is freeform and editorial, resembling a physical pinboard more than a structured grid. The combination of selective blur, drag affordance, and absolute positioning gives the block an exploratory, tactile quality. The varying image sizes and z-index layering add depth without relying on any three-dimensional transforms.
