Gallery 143 - Flip Leaf Photo Deck

Pro

A portrait deck of skincare photos where each new card tumbles down over the top from a hinge like a flip clock leaf, scrubbed continuously by dragging up or down, with buttons, keys, wheel and an endless autoplay.

Gallery 143 block design & features

Gallery143 is a stacked photo deck built with shadcn/ui. A single rounded 4:5 card sits in the centre with the edges of the cards beneath it showing along the bottom, and the name of the top photo, a one-line note and two round arrow buttons sit below.

Moving forward swings the next card over the top of the deck from a hinge on its upper edge, like a leaf on a flip clock or a card file. It starts folded back above the deck showing its plain back, turns towards you as it passes upright and lands flat on the pile, with its face shaded until it settles and a soft shadow falling on the card underneath. Dragging down pulls the leaf over by hand and dragging up lifts the top card back off, both following the pointer exactly, and letting go snaps to the nearest card. The buttons, arrow keys and the mouse wheel step one card at a time, autoplay runs while the deck is left alone, and the order loops without end. With reduced motion the cards crossfade instead of flipping.

The flip deck suits beauty, skincare and small product ranges shot in portrait, or any short set of photos that should feel like something physical to leaf through. It needs a photo, a title and a short note for each card.
