The row drifts slowly on its own and loops forever. As a card approaches the centre it widens smoothly to about 1.85 times the width of its neighbours, showing more of the photo rather than scaling it, while the cards either side slide aside so the gaps stay even. Dragging the row carries momentum and settles a card in the centre, a wheel or trackpad gesture moves one card, arrow keys work when the row is focused, and clicking a card brings it to the centre. Touch drags only read the horizontal axis so the page still scrolls. With reduced motion the drift stops and snaps happen instantly.
The wide focus suits fashion, accessories, jewellery, textiles or any product range where a closer look sells. It needs a portrait photo and a short name for each card.
