Gallery 126 block design & features
Gallery126 is a filmstrip gallery built with shadcn/ui that shows travel destinations seen from the air. A centred heading and one line of copy sit above a full-width row of rounded image cards that all share the same top edge. One card is unfurled to full height and about two and a half times the width of the others, while the rest hang as short strips, like film from a rail. A pair of round buttons and a simple counter sit centred underneath.
Hovering a card, focusing it or pressing the arrow keys moves the focus, and the heights and widths change together on a spring. Photos are cropped with object cover and pinned to the top at a fixed height, so the unfurl reveals more of the picture downward instead of stretching it. The title and place fade in at the bottom of the focused card only. When nobody is interacting the row advances slowly and loops, pausing on hover or focus. On mobile it becomes a horizontal scroll snap strip with the centred card unfurled, and reduced motion turns off the springs and autoplay.
It suits travel journals, tour operators, photographers and hotel groups that want a compact, image-led row of places. It works best with five to seven portrait or aerial photos that read well when cropped to a strip, each with a short title and a place name.
