Gallery 120 block design & features
Gallery120 is a centred shadcn/ui gallery that wraps a set of photos around a sphere. Twelve aerial survey frames are repeated across forty tiles spread evenly over the globe, each one facing outward, with a heading and short intro above and a thin rule below. Under the rule sit the title and altitude of whichever photo is nearest the viewer, a short hint and a mono counter.
The globe turns slowly on its own when left alone. Dragging spins it with momentum that eases out after release, and a drag never opens a photo by accident. Photos on the far side stay faintly visible through the front so the shape reads as a sphere, and only the facing photos can be clicked. With the globe focused, the arrow keys nudge it round and Enter opens the nearest photo. Clicking a photo opens it large over a blurred backdrop with its caption, previous and next buttons and a close button; Escape, the arrow keys and clicking outside all work there too. Auto rotation and momentum switch off when reduced motion is preferred.
It suits photographers, travel brands and studios with a large set of square or portrait images that look good small. Each photo needs an image, a title and a one line detail.
