Gallery 118 block design & features
Gallery118 is a portrait photographer's slideshow built with shadcn/ui around a single tall photo stage. On wide screens the stage sits on the left, with the heading and description at the top of the right column and the sitting name, a detail line, round arrow buttons and a mono counter at the bottom. On phones these stack, with the caption and buttons below the stage.
A small portrait-shaped preview of the next sitting, labelled with its name and number, lives on the stage. On a mouse it replaces the cursor and follows it with a soft spring, and drifts back to the bottom right corner when the pointer leaves. Clicking anywhere grows that preview from its current position and size until it fills the stage and becomes the current photo, while the name, detail and counter roll up to the new values. On touch screens the preview rests in the corner and a tap expands it. Arrow keys, Enter and the buttons work too, and reduced motion swaps the expansion for a crossfade.
It suits portrait and fashion photographers, casting agencies and editorial studios that want one face on screen at a time. It needs a portrait-orientation photo, a title and a short detail line, such as the type of shoot and lighting, for each sitting.
