Coverflow 8 block design & features
Coverflow8 presents a set of books as spines standing on a shelf. In this shadcn/ui block, a serif heading sits above a row of colored spines of slightly different heights with their titles set vertically. Choosing a book turns its spine away and unfolds the cover beside it, showing the cover photo with the title and author printed on top. Underneath, the book's title, author, and a short blurb animate in next to an outline button for reading a sample.
Spines lift a little on hover, the shelf is a thick muted bar, and the serif type gives it a literary tone. The cover unfolds from its left edge with a long ease, so it reads like a book being pulled forward.
It is a distinctive, tactile take on a carousel that suits publishers, reading lists, and course libraries. Keyboard users can move along the shelf with the arrow keys. It needs a cover image, spine color, height, title, author, and blurb for each book.
On narrow screens the shelf scrolls sideways.
