Coverflow 45 block design & features
Coverflow45 is a wave carousel built with shadcn/ui, motion and CSS 3D transforms, shown here as a lookbook for a clothing brand's autumn edit. A plain centred heading and one line of copy sit above a long ribbon of ten portrait photos on the page background, with two round outline buttons below.
The ribbon follows a sine wave: the card at the centre rides the crest, flat and largest, while its neighbours slope down into the troughs on either side, each one turned to follow the curve and set further back in depth, fading into the page toward the edges. Dragging sideways slides the ribbon along the wave with inertia and snaps a card onto the crest, each wheel gesture moves one step, the arrow keys and buttons work when it has focus, and clicking a card brings it to the crest. Left alone it drifts slowly along the wave, pausing on hover and for a few seconds after any interaction. The ribbon loops endlessly, and on touch a sideways swipe moves it while vertical swipes still scroll the page.
It suits fashion, apparel and lifestyle brands that want a lookbook or new-season section with movement but very little text. Each look needs a portrait photo and alt text, with an optional object position to keep faces framed.
