Coverflow 42 block design & features
Coverflow42 is a minimal drum carousel built with shadcn/ui and Motion. Five portrait product renders sit on the faces of a vertical cylinder, 72 degrees apart, so the facing render fills most of the section while the ones above and below tilt away as thin slivers with a clear gap between each. The drum sits directly on the page background and fades into it at the top and bottom. There is no heading; the only text is the facing object's name and a small counter, centred under the drum.
The drum loops endlessly. Dragging it up or down turns it with inertia and snaps to the nearest face, and on touch screens a sideways swipe turns it so vertical swipes still scroll the page. A mouse wheel turns one step per gesture, but only while the drum is fully in view, and it hands scrolling back to the page after a full turn. Arrow keys, Home and End work once the drum is focused, clicking a tilted face brings it forward the short way round, and the name cross-fades as each face arrives.
The tone is calm and gallery-like, suited to design studios, product launches or object collections where the images should do all the talking. It needs a render or photo for each item, ideally on a plain background, plus a short name and alt text. An aria label for the carousel is passed as a prop, since the block has no heading.
