Coverflow 37 block design & features
Coverflow37 is a release carousel built with shadcn/ui and motion, shown here for a small record label with eight new titles. Each release is a disc printed edge to edge with a close-up of a material or a drawing, with a silver hub carrying the label name and catalogue number around a real centre hole. The discs stand on a thin track that slants up to the right, with the front disc large in the middle and the rest smaller on either side. The title, artist and a small mono credits table sit in the open space above the track on the left, and a counter with round arrow buttons sits at the lower right.
Dragging sideways along the track, or using the arrow buttons, arrow keys, Home and End, moves the discs, and each one rolls as it travels. Its rotation is its distance travelled divided by its radius, so the art and hub text turn exactly as a wheel would, faster on the small discs and slower on the large front one. A drag carries on with some inertia and settles on the nearest release, and clicking a disc rolls it to the front. The track loops, with discs fading out at the far ends and rolling back in from the other side. On narrow screens the credits and controls move below the track.
The tone is playful but restrained, with a fixed light sheen on each disc and soft shadows. It suits music labels, podcasts, film festivals or any catalogue of square artwork. It needs a square image, a title, an artist and a few credit lines for each release.
