Coverflow 35 block design & features
Coverflow35 is a two-state project index built with shadcn/ui and motion, shown here for an architecture practice with seven houses. Photos fade in on a gentle stagger as the block scrolls into view, forming a dashed, gently elliptical ring of small landscape photos around a large central title, a studio line and an Open index button. Hovering or focusing any photo cross-fades the centre title to that project's name, location and year.
Opening the index, by the button, a click on a photo or a short vertical drag, flies every photo inward into a vertical drum. The photos sit on the face of a cylinder turned on its horizontal axis, with the facing project flat and full size and its neighbours tilting away and darkening. Scrolling, dragging with inertia, the round arrow buttons or the arrow keys turn the drum one project at a time while the caption beside it updates with a counter, year, location and a short note. The drum loops, so the last project turns straight on to the first, and Escape or the close button folds it back into the ring.
The tone is calm and editorial, close to a printed portfolio index. It suits architecture, interiors and design studios with a body of six to ten projects. It needs a wide photo, a name, a location, a year and a one-line description for each project.
